Welcome to the studio.In Showrunner, you and your friends create your own TV series, from a gritty cyberpunk thriller to a sprawling fantasy epic. But you're not just playing the heroes of the story; you're also playing the ambitious Stars cast in the lead roles.Your goal is to deliver a compelling performance, but you'll have to survive the notes from your producers: Karen, a cold corporate executive obsessed with metrics, and Larry, a chaotic rich guy who just wants more explosions.Each session, you'll receive a "Producer's Beat Sheet" with mandatory story beats you must hit or the show gets cancelled. As your show grows, new mechanics are introduced as new "production demands," intuitively teaching you the game one episode at a time.Will you craft a critically-acclaimed masterpiece or will you be unceremoniously written off after sweeps week?
How to Play
Showrunner uses a simple 2d10 system where the story comes first. The game starts with just the core rules and new mechanics are layered in with each 'episode,' allowing you to learn as you play.
